MacIntyre Wind Farm
The largest Wind farm in the Southern Hemisphere, The MacIntyre Wind Farm will be located within 36,000 hectares of leased land approximately 200 kms south-west of Brisbane and approximately 50 kms south-west of Warwick in Queensland. The MacIntyre and Karara complex will generate up to 400 jobs during its life cycle and will provide a significant economic boost to the communities in which it is located, with a investment that will exceed AU $1.96 billion (€ 1 billion).
The farms will have 180 Nordex Delta 4000 5.7 MW turbines, the latest generation of wind turbines launched by the German manufacturer.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2021, although most of the investments will be concentrated in 2022 and 2023. The entry into operation will be gradual by blocks to ensure connection to the grid with full technical guarantees for the electrical system state. The complex will be fully operational in 2024.
